When the Grass Grows

Soxwi:les - When the Grass Grows

Chris Silver, Semá:th First Nation shares:

“This is when everything is starting to come alive. The plants are coming alive, the animals are coming out. Everything is starting to grow again. This moon is really about the plants not people. We really thrived on the plants and still do to this day. Even if we want to be meat eaters, animals have to live off the vegetation as well. It is circular, a continuous cycle. We each have our season, we each have our time where we rise, and we respect the animals, plants, and water for their seasons. That is what the seasons are to remind us of."
